About Gina Mielko
I started my art career in 1993 working as a muralist creating commissioned works of art for clients through my association with interior designers in New York, Miami and Atlanta. In 1998, I took my art from walls to canvas exclusively.
Today, my art hangs on the walls of homes and businesses in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, and both South and Central Americas.
I am always experimenting. Instead of developing one style under which I paint, I have 4 styles that I have developed over the years. Whether it is my figurative nude art, my romantic art or even my icon art, every image translates best into one of my 4 common styles.
My Windy or Butterfly Style features an abundance of motion in its abstract with whimsical elements of butterfly wings hidden throughout.
My Hard Edge/Punk Style which is very spotty, almost minimal, edgy and some collectors have even called it angry in feel. It's bold and makes no excuses.
My Pop/Colorful Style which is almost pop art but not.
My Ethereal Style which is smooth, silky and not as colorful as my other styles.
My romantic art captures a certain feeling whether it is heartbreak, lust, bonding, longing, etc. I want to create a visual feeling that goes beyond the subject. When I paint my nudes, my goal is to capture the beauty of the body rather than the erotic side. With my icon series, I try to work from images that sum up their aura and I blend that with my butterfly style to create a colorful abstract that depicts their personality.
